About Me
As a professional, I believe I’m at my best when it comes to telling stories. With a background in journalism and communications, I have a proven record of writing and editing content for a national audience.
My work has appeared in the National Post, Exclaim! Magazine, Artsfile, and I have worked as a copy editor and page layout designer for Postmedia. I have worked as the arts editor at The Charlatan, Carleton University’s student newspaper, where I not only worked on stories myself, but helped others create their own. I covered finance for the National Post, where I worked on pieces about topics such as real estate, the natural resource industry, and economic issues.
But my main specialty would have to be arts and entertainment writing, as I regularly write music reviews, enjoy covering topics like theatre, literature and visual arts, and have interviewed bands like Japandroids, Tokyo Police Club, Circa Survive, and The Elwins. I have talked to everyone from Oscar winners to aspiring student performers, and I find all their stories compelling in their own unique ways, and they all deserve to be shared. I have experience in written, visual, audio, and multimedia communications. These pieces include audio pieces about a latte art competition and a federal NDP leadership debate, and a multimedia piece on Ottawa safe injection sites.
As a communicator, I bring with me a genuine love of learning and writing, and using those skills to tell stories. Whether I’m talking to an author about their latest book, a theatre director about their latest production, a recent first-time homebuyer, or a Canadian comedy icon, I’m always interested in hearing what others have to share. I believe everyone has a story to tell, and I’m always working to be the person people trust to help tell their story to the world.
